The TTSPORT Mono EMB4 rear 4-piston big brake kit is part of the TTSPORT Mono monoblock forged series. It is a high-end 4-piston brake upgrade specifically developed for the rear axle. Its primary purpose is to complement front big brake systems, restoring the vehicle's optimal braking force distribution and addressing issues such as insufficient rear braking contribution and unbalanced braking dynamics that often arise after upgrading the front brakes. Leveraging the high rigidity and lightweight nature of monoblock forging, it delivers stable, linear rear braking performance suitable for both spirited street driving and track days (HPDE), serving as the ideal rear-axle counterpart to the EMB6 front caliper in the same series.
The Mono EMB4 is a rear-axle big brake kit designed to balance front-end upgrades, offering stable bias, a clean pedal feel, and consistent braking force. A 4-piston monoblock forged aluminum caliper actuates 30mm pistons against two-piece brake discs (available in 345mm, 355mm, or 380mm sizes, with steel or carbon-ceramic options) to suit your vehicle configuration.
The EMB4 utilizes an opposed 4-piston monoblock forged aluminum alloy caliper. The caliper body is forged from a single solid aluminum billet and precision-machined via CNC; it eliminates the bolted assembly found in two-piece designs. This construction offers significantly superior resistance to flex and deformation under high-pressure braking, ensuring zero loss in braking force transmission and providing more direct, precise pedal feedback.
Piston Configuration: It employs four equal-diameter 30mm pistons, resulting in a total piston area of 28.3 cm² per caliper. This area is specifically tuned for rear-axle load characteristics; it provides sufficient supplementary rear braking force without causing premature rear-wheel lockup due to excessive force, thereby avoiding interference with the factory ABS and electronic stability control logic and ensuring vehicle stability during braking. Piston Structure: Features a two-piece heat-insulating piston design with standard dust seals. This configuration slows the transfer of braking heat to the brake fluid, preventing pedal feel degradation during repeated braking, while also protecting against dust and road salt corrosion to extend maintenance intervals for pistons and seals.
Physical Specifications: Caliper dimensions are 268mm (L) x 164mm (W) x 68mm (H), with a net weight of just 2.55kg per caliper (excluding brake pads)—an outstanding lightweight achievement for a rear four-piston caliper.
Surface Finish: Standard nickel plating provides a metallic, race-inspired aesthetic; it offers superior heat and corrosion resistance compared to standard painted finishes. Custom color options are available through authorized domestic channels.
Mounting Method: Radial mount design paired with vehicle-specific, CNC-machined high-carbon steel brackets, ensuring precise fitment to the rear knuckle specifications of various vehicle models.
Brake Disc Specifications
The entire lineup comes standard with 28mm-thick, two-piece internally ventilated brake discs. Multiple diameter options are available, along with a choice of two material types: heat-treated high-carbon cast iron or carbon-ceramic (CCB).

The discs feature CNC-machined, high-strength aluminum alloy hats (bells) designed to absorb thermal expansion and contraction, thereby minimizing disc deformation and reducing the risk of vibration during high-speed braking.
Brake Pad Parameters
Specific brake pad compounds are matched to the corresponding disc types; official specifications are as follows:
Pads for Steel Discs: Operating temperature range of 0–600°C; average friction coefficient (μ) ≈ 0.38. Offers stable braking performance and minimizes excessive disc wear; suitable for daily commuting and light spirited driving.
Pads for Carbon-Ceramic Discs: Operating temperature range of 0–700°C; average friction coefficient (μ) ≈ 0.45. Formulated specifically for carbon-ceramic surfaces, delivering superior braking force and fade resistance at high temperatures.
Note: Brake pads and discs must be matched correctly by material type; mixing incompatible materials is strictly prohibited.
Core Supporting Components
Braided Stainless Steel Brake Lines: Feature a three-layer design—an inner PTFE layer, a middle SUS304 stainless steel braided layer, and an outer PVC protective sheath. This construction significantly minimizes hose expansion under high pressure, resulting in a firmer, more responsive pedal feel. The fittings are vehicle-specific, designed to interface correctly with both the caliper and chassis connection points.
Installation Hardware: Caliper brackets are CNC-machined from high-carbon steel, and brake disc hats are made from high-strength aluminum alloy; both are custom-manufactured based on specific vehicle data. A complete set of installation fasteners is included as standard.
Standard Kit Contents
The complete vehicle-specific rear brake kit includes:
2 x EMB4 Monoblock Forged 4-Piston Rear Calipers
2 x Two-Piece Brake Discs (in selected specifications)
1 x Set of Brake Pads (matching compound)
2 x Sets of Vehicle-Specific Radial-Mount Caliper Brackets
2 x Aluminum Alloy Brake Disc Hats

Note: Brake fluid is not included in the kit. High-temperature DOT 4 or racing-grade brake fluid is officially recommended; the system must be thoroughly bled after installation.
Mandatory Installation Prerequisites
Wheel Size Requirements: Minimum 18-inch wheels required. 345mm discs are designed for 18-inch wheels; 355mm and 380mm discs require 19-inch or larger wheels (actual fitment depends on spoke design).
Wheel Clearance Requirements: Minimum clearance of 101mm is required between the inner wheel spokes and the brake assembly. Wheel offset (ET value), spoke design, and barrel depth affect actual compatibility; it is officially recommended to provide wheel specifications for clearance verification before ordering.
Braking Balance Requirements: Not recommended for use solely as a rear-wheel upgrade. The EMB4 was designed to complement upgraded front big brake systems; using stock front brakes with upgraded rear brakes would shift the braking force balance toward the rear, interfering with ABS and vehicle stability systems and compromising safety. TTSPORT recommends pairing it with the EMB6 front big brake kit (from the same series) to create a complete monoblock forged braking system.
Mandatory Bedding-In: A proper bedding-in procedure must be performed before aggressive driving to establish a uniform friction material transfer layer on the disc surface. Skipping this step can lead to issues such as brake judder, uneven braking force, and abnormal disc wear.
The EMB4 is a rear caliper from TTSPORT’s high-end performance line. Its core advantages lie in the high rigidity and lightweight nature provided by monoblock forging. It offers superior pedal firmness and stability during continuous braking compared to similarly positioned two-piece rear calipers, making it ideal for users who desire the feel of a full monoblock forged system and frequently engage in track days or spirited mountain driving.
Is the EMB4 a front or rear kit?
It is designed exclusively for the rear axle. It is intended to complement larger high-performance front brake kits (BBK), providing ideal rear braking force distribution without upsetting chassis balance.
What brake disc sizes are available for the EMB4?
Steel disc specifications include Ø345, 355, or 380 mm (all with a thickness of 28 mm); carbon-ceramic disc specifications are Ø380 mm × 28 mm. All discs feature a two-piece construction with internal ventilation and directional cooling vanes.
What wheel sizes fit the EMB4?
The EMB4 fits 18-inch or larger wheels, requiring a minimum clearance of 101 mm behind the wheel spokes. Larger discs or specific wheel designs may require additional clearance—please verify using the fitment template.
Can carbon-ceramic brake pads be used with steel brake discs?
No. Brake pads must be matched to the brake disc material: steel discs require pads compatible with steel discs, while carbon-ceramic discs require pads compatible with carbon-ceramic (CCB) specifications.
Is a bedding-in process required?
Yes. A proper bedding-in process ensures the uniform transfer of brake pad material onto the disc surface; this is crucial for achieving good initial bite, linear braking control, and extended disc service life.
